Who wants a committee: social? Teresa check with Larri
Teresa shared a concern that Triplexes are being built in neighborhoods that don’t have an HOA. Discussion was had on what we could do to prevent this from happening in OP and it was determined that without an HOA we do not have legal grounds to stand on. Nothing will be done at this time.
Teresa will check on the cost of getting some of the sign toppers completed as a phase 2 and then do the final phase when the city has replaced the rest of the street signs. (One of the signs was hit by a garbage truck and has since disappeared). She will bring the estimate to the next meeting.
Beautification:
Cruz Flores with Flores landscaping has taken over lawn maintenance. 500.00/month including picking up sticks and general upkeep of entrances.
We will stay with Hector to do the pine needles.
Lights: Roger is checking with Cruz and will update next month
Plan B is to get a quote from Southern Lighting.
Plantings for beds: Roger is checking with Cruz to see if he does that.
During spring and summer the grasses will be cut back or removed, beds cleaned up to get a blank canvas. Plant entrances in Fall.
Goal: new lighting installed and beds planted by October, 2024.
Welcome Chair:
Ashley will come up with a budget for a candle with an OP sticker on it and bring it to the April meeting. Walgreens might be a good option for candles. Red Bubble and Sticker Mule are options for purchasing stickers.

Christmas decorations:
Will be put up over Thanksgiving weekend. Is Christy able to still lead this? Roger will reach out to her. He will also check with Jim Terrell on a quote for hanging it for us and will report back to the board.
Dave has 7 new wreaths, garland is pretty tired and should be replaced – but will be assessed this week.
Bows need to be freshened up and might need more?
Summerlin and Rea: wreath and bow
Summerlin and Abbotswood: wreath and bow
Lights all over the cannon, garland, lights and wreath with bow on Windyrush, Lancer and Battle Forest
Will set and approve a budget in the next few days.
Travis will lead the measuring for lights to see how many strands are needed.
Dave and Roger will assess bows and garland this week.
Need to purchase: lights, more wreaths?, ribbon for bows?, garland?
Tour of Homes:
Discuss in December to make a final decision.
Sign Toppers:
21 have been installed. Thank you to everyone who helped install them. We have 26 left to purchase which will be around $3619. The next step is for the city to replace the rest of the street signs and then we can purchase the next batch. Will need to decide if we want to purchase all 26 or do additional phases.
Covenants:
They have not been updated since 1968 and are outdated and several things are not enforced. (Live stock, signs in yards) These need to be updated but not sure how we would enforce them. It was suggested that we talk to other neighborhoods who do not have HOAs. Teresa will send a copy of the current covenants out to the board and put them on the website.
Electrician:
Receptacles are being fixed. When that is done Travis will get a quote on the lights and share with the board. Electrician is a few weeks out.
Looking to do lights similar to Chadwyck.
Landscaping:
Team could be doing a better job. Beds are not being maintained properly. Up close, the entrances do not look maintained. Travis and Roger will get with the crew to remind them of our expectations.
April 23, 2023

Kevin, Treasurer:
240 neighbors have paid dues this year
$13,400 in dues so far
$1260 donations for sign toppers
$21,000 in bank currently
Budget was right under 16,000 last year including sign toppers. Sponsorship of the newsletter will help our budget this year. Insurance will be renewed this spring. Roger will look into this to make sure everything is on track.. This will be a yearly expense. Will talk about capital improvements at the next meeting. Possible projects: entrance lights, finish paying for the sign toppers, and Christmas decorations.
Teresa, Membership: We are 160 neighbors away from our goal of 400. Headed into phase three of our campaign which is to drop flyers off at those who have not paid. Teresa has packets for each street with the names of those who haven’t paid and enough flyers. Drop them off by the block party to keep the momentum going. Teresa gave the last of the sign toppers to Travis to install.
Larri, Activities: Yard sale is on May 6th. Teresa will post on Next Door and Lisa will put up signs at the entrances.
Block Party is on the 19th. 5:30 – 8:00. Teresa will post on social media and Lisa will put up signs at the entrances.BBQ truck is confirmed. 300.00 minimum. Will have BBQ and fish. OMB will have beer and wine. Waiting on contract. Will be the tent and kegged beer.Carolina Ice Cream truck – they require payment in advance. Could give ice cream to dues paying members (one per family) or sell tickets. Larri to look at the icee truck that comes through our neighborhood as a replacement to ice cream.
Might need to change location due to an illness of one of the neighbors near Foxworth and Windyrush. Knightswood is a possible location if it is still closed off, Larri will look into and report back.Bubbles, hula hoops, etc. will be provided. Larri to purchase and be reimbursed.
Larri will reach out via text with updates. We will finalize plans at 5/3 meeting.
Dave and Travis, Beautification: Entrance lights are problematic. Lancers are on all of the time, the Cannon is out completely. There are some people in the neighborhood who can give us a quote. Lights need to be moved close to the structure so they do not get knocked down. Will talk about this more in May. Still have not heard back from the city about the stumps on Randwick. The landscapers will remove the stumps and put pine straw down. The Oaks on Lancer need to be limbed up eventually.
Christy, OPES Liaison: EOGs are coming up and that is the focus at school. Might be another Family Fun Night and Christy will let us know.
Next meeting May 3rd at 7:00 at Roger’s house. 4:45 Roger adjourned the meeting
May 24, 2022

Welcome back to school Olde Providence kids: Keep in mind our neighborhood kids are starting back to school this week. Be extra careful on the roads!

School Rezoning: CMS school board will be voting in July related to rezoning for high schools. Board members are reaching out to understand the situation.
Yard of the month: Congratulations to last month’s winner, Rick Abee at 6801 Knightswood Dr. He recently completed a Master Gardener class and it is evident by his beautiful yard. Keep an eye out for next yard of the month.
Entrance Sign: Thanks to board members Dave, Jeff, and Lisa for painting entrance sign and keeping the neighborhood looking sharp.
